Assembly of Total War is well underway. We now have about 1000 of each map folded, and have similar numbers of countersheet sets collated and game box tops and bottoms assembled (they came flat). That is slightly more than what we need for the preorder, but far from having all done for the entire print run. Still waiting on some of the charts and the rules and OBs to come back from printer. When they do, we will quickly collate the charts, assemble the games, shrinkwrap, box, and ship. Last of printing is slotted for 25-31 October, so should have last components back no later than about 10 November. All the game component sub assembly being done now means that entire preorder will probably ship in a short period of about 1 week. So just about everyone should have their game by end of November. We also now have all the boxing/shipping supplies for the game in the warehouse (the shrinkwrap, packing peanuts/bubblewrap, and individual game shipper boxes).
Thank you very much to show us your office, it’s incredible.
So I’m happy to see that Christmas would be with total war…:)
Good job.
Excellent!! It’s been a long wait. What’s your next project once this is finished? Any plans for Bloody Eagles of the Great War Series?
This is great news indeed.
We’ll be in Moscow by Christmas!
Paul Berengeur – Next out after Total War, is Europa Magazine issue #88. Then ‘A Winter War, 2nd Edition’ as we printed counters for it along with Total War, then a reprint of First to Fight, Europa Magazine #89, and start of Turning Point (east front 1942 campaign) playtest to start with plan of releasing game in late 2012. We are also looking at either Partizan/BalkanFront reprint (amalgan of Balkan Front, Partisan war in Balkans – 2 games in box, same map, lots of same counters in use) or Samurai Lighting (Malaya, Singapore) for 2012. Goal is to get Magazine back on regular schedule, return smaller games to print, get 2nd game in East Front trilogy out, and then see what else we can do.
What is the scale of Total War in terms of each hex and duration of each turn?
I would hope that that hasn’t changed; some 25 km per hex (IIRC) and a half month per turn.
Total War is standard Europa series scale, 16 statute miles per hex, and half-month game turns.
Ken Ricci: The Europa scale is 16 miles to the hex; half-month turns; units are mostly divisions, but with lots of brigade/regiment/battalion support units.
This is awesome. This is “THE ONE” that started it all for me oh so many years ago when my uncle gave me a copy of Fire in the East. I’m 50 now and ready to be 12 again. Marching my panzer divisions east is where its at. Hurry please!
John, I’m 56 and started with Drang Nach Osten, back in 1977 :-) Time flies when you are having fun!!! But I have noticed that over 50, time just flies, doesn’t have to be fun :-( But, as an old magazine advert read – “This Christmas, ask Santa for a Panzer Division!!” :-)
